D&G Noble, a haulage firm based in Bedford, successfully used the PORTAGANTRY system recommended by Kranserv to install new control panels in two older locations with limited accessibility for a clean water facility near London.

The background

D&G Noble are a haulage firm based in Bedford who can cover anything from haulage of steelwork, containers, drums and anything in between. Along with this they run a range of tanker and hookloader vehicles, alongside a range of vans and LGV’s for delivery into smaller urban areas.

A clean water facility near London needed to install new control panels in two of their older locations with limited accessibility; they turned to D&G Noble for a solution. Kranserv recommended using the PORTAGANTRY system for lifting, and D&G Noble successfully used it to move the panels through an access point and reposition them.

The challenge

A clean water facility, near London, required maintenance and the installation of several control panels in two different locations which both had limited accessibility.

They were required to lift a panel approximately 2.5 meters by 1.5 meters in size through an access point in a floor opening, up to the level above – where space was at a premium – to then position the panel into a final upright standing position.

The SOLUTION

Kranserv stock REID’s portable gantry systems in a variety of height, capacity and length configurations. D&G Noble looked to Kranserv for help when they needed lifting equipment for the task; Kranserv recommended the PORTAGANTRY as the right piece of equipment for the job.

By using a medium-sized 2000kg PORTAGANTRY system, D&G Noble successfully bridged over the floor opening and deployed a Yale VS Chain Block Hoist and lifting straps to raise one of the control panels through. Later, the same gantry was used at the second site to reposition another control panel from its horizontal orientation to a vertical position.

The feedback

“We were able to make great use of the PORTAGANTRY, it made the whole process easy for our customer.” - Kranserv Ltd
