PortX Base Counterbalance
The PortX Base Counterbalance is a lightweight, portable socket solution designed for vertical confined space entry and over-edge access applications. Suitable for use with 800mm-1000mm radius with the PortX Davit XR and PortX Davit.
Conformity standards
- EN795:2012 Type B & supplied under PPE Regulation 2016/425
- EN1496:2017 with a maximum system rating of 140kg
Integrated rotation lock
The PortX Base Counterbalance features an integrated rotation lock that secures the davit at 180° for fall arrest applications, while allowing a 180° arc of rotation when required.
Integrated rotation lock
Designed to support safe and efficient fall protection, the rotation lock holds the davit in a fixed forward-facing position, helping ensure predictable loading and consistent system alignment during fall arrest use. This provides operators with increased confidence while working at height.
When greater movement is required, the integrated locking pin can be quickly released to enable a full 180° arc of rotation, giving users the flexibility to transition seamlessly between fixed-position safety applications and recuperation operations.
Variable Tail Length Options
With multiple tail length options available, the PortX Base Counterbalance can be configured to optimise counterweight requirements while delivering the flexibility needed for a wide range of applications.
Variable Tail Length Options
Designed to balance portability and performance, longer tail lengths require significantly less counterweight to achieve a compliant setup. For example, a system configured with a 2200mm tail requires just 260kg of counterweight at a 1000mm davit radius, compared to 660kg with a 1000mm tail, reducing transportation, handling and setup demands.
By offering a choice of tail lengths from 1000mm to 2200mm, operators can select the configuration that best suits site constraints, access limitations and counterweight availability. The result is a more adaptable and efficient counterbalance solution that can be tailored to the specific demands of each project.
Dual Counterweight Compatibility
Compatible with both standard hand weights and gym weights, the PortX Base Counterbalance provides greater flexibility when sourcing and configuring counterweights for the application.
Dual Counterweight Compatibility
Designed to adapt to the resources available on site, the system allows operators to utilise either dedicated hand weights or commonly available gym weights, simplifying logistics and reducing the need for specialist counterweight equipment.
By supporting multiple counterweight types, the PortX Base Counterbalance offers increased deployment flexibility and improved operational convenience, helping users establish a compliant counterbalance setup quickly and efficiently in a wider range of environments.
Integrated Davit Compatibility system
Integrated locating features within the socket ensure that only compatible davits can be installed, helping operators maintain a safe and compliant system configuration.
Integrated Davit Compatibility system
Designed to prevent incorrect equipment assembly, the integrated compatibility system provides a physical interface that only accepts approved davit configurations. This helps reduce the risk of installation errors and gives operators greater confidence during setup.
By ensuring the correct davit is paired with the base, the system enhances safety, simplifies equipment selection and supports consistent performance across lifting and fall protection applications.
Modular construction
The PortX Base Counterbalance features a modular design that simplifies transportation, handling and deployment without compromising capability.
Modular construction
Designed to break down into lightweight, manageable components, the system can be transported, assembled and reconfigured with ease, helping operators overcome access restrictions and streamline site logistics. The modular layout also allows individual components to be handled separately, reducing setup complexity and improving operational efficiency.
By separating the system into distinct functional modules, users benefit from greater flexibility during transportation, storage and installation. This adaptable approach makes the PortX Base Counterbalance easier to mobilise between projects, helping operators respond quickly to changing site requirements while maximising productivity.
Self-Engaging Captive Pins
Self-engaging captive pins enable fast, secure assembly while eliminating the risk of misplaced components during setup and transport.
Self-Engaging Captive Pins
Designed to streamline deployment, the captive pin system allows key connections to be secured quickly and confidently, helping operators reduce assembly time and minimise the potential for installation errors in the field.
By remaining permanently attached to the system, the pins cannot be lost, misplaced or left behind, improving operational efficiency and ensuring the PortX Base Counterbalance is always ready for rapid deployment when needed.
