Porta Davit Quantum Winched

Designed for fast deployment and easy handling, the Porta Davit Quantum Winched can be assembled without tools using simple push-button ball lock pins. Its lightweight yet robust design allows a single operator to transport, assemble, and position the system with ease, delivering an excellent strength-to-weight ratio for demanding lifting and safety applications. For enhanced control during lifting operations, an optional rotational handle can be fitted to allow smooth, controlled rotation under load.

When not in use, the PDQ folds into a compact single-column configuration with a retractable jib, making it easy to transport, store, and protect between uses. Integrated protective fins shield the telescopic jib arm while adding strength and rigidity to the structure, and also provides mounting points for a range of accessories.

The integrated double sheave head means the Porta Davit Quantum is compatible with a dual device configuration. The dual sheaves ensure that the device cables are routed separately and neatly, greatly reducing the chance of snagging, rubbing and the cables getting caught on each other during operation.

The PDQ’s design also allows single sided mounting for two devices meaning that both devices can easily and safely be accessed for goods lifting, personnel lifting and rescue operation.

The integrated restraining point located on the rear of the Porta Davit Quantum column allows a self-retracting lifeline (SRL) such as the PortX Rescue, to be connected directly to the system, providing fall protection for the hoist operator while carrying out lifting operations.

By enabling operators to remain securely connected while actively working, the restraining point helps enhance safety when operating close to edges or other fall hazards. This integrated solution eliminates the need for separate anchorage arrangements, simplifying site setup and reducing equipment requirements.

The result is a safer, more efficient working environment where operators can carry out lifting tasks with greater confidence, knowing their fall protection is incorporated directly into the davit system.

The Porta Davit Quantum Winched is fitted with a double shackle head, providing a simple and flexible attachment point for a wide range of lifting equipment. Whether connecting manual chain hoists, lifting blocks, fall arrest devices or rescue equipment the shackled design allows operators to quickly configure the system to suit the task at hand without the need for dedicated lifting hardware.

This flexibility makes the Porta Davit Quantum particularly valuable for organisations carrying out varied lifting operations across multiple locations. Rather than being restricted to a specific winch or lifting appliance, users have the freedom to select the most appropriate equipment for the application, enabling the same davit to support different lifting and safety requirements.

The Porta Davit Quantum range are designed around Reid’s universal 65mm kingpin, allowing the system to rotate a full 360° while carrying a load. Rather than having to repeatedly reposition the davit, operators can smoothly move loads through the required lifting path by simply rotating the system around its socket position. This not only improves control during lifting and lowering operations but also helps maintain safer handling of suspended loads throughout the task.

The Porta Davit Quantum Winched features three radius adjustment positions at 100mm increments, allowing the reach to be reduced while increasing the available lifting height. This flexibility enables the davit to adapt to different socket locations across a site, ensuring the optimal positioning for each application and maintaining a smooth, vertical lift. Radius adjustments are quick and simple to make using a ball-lock push pin, enabling fast reconfiguration on site.
