Socket Extensions

The Socket Extensions are designed to provide additional working height and reach where standard davit installations may be restricted by parapets, guardrails, walkways or other site obstructions. Available in three standard lengths of 500mm, 800mm and 1100mm, they enable operators to position equipment more effectively while maintaining safe and efficient access to the work area.

Engineered as an integral part of the Reid system, the Socket Extensions retain EN795:2012 certification up to a 1600mm radius when used with a compatible EN795:2012 certified Reid davit. This allows sites to gain the additional clearance they need without compromising fall protection capabilities. For unique site requirements, custom extension lengths are also available, providing a tailored solution for challenging access environments.

The Socket Extensions are designed for fast, straightforward deployment, allowing operators to extend the capability of an existing 65mm socket with minimal disruption. Simply install the extension into the fixed socket, then assemble the davit as normal using the extension as the new mounting point.

Their intuitive design helps reduce setup complexity while maintaining a secure connection between the socket and davit. Once installed, operators can quickly position the davit for use, making it an efficient solution for applications where additional clearance is required to work over walls, guardrails and other site obstacles.

The Socket Extensions are manufactured from lightweight aluminium to minimise manual handling demands without compromising durability. Integrated carry handles make the extension easier to transport, position and install, helping operators deploy the system efficiently when additional height or reach is required.
